What I Do
While most of my professional life is a construction of copywriting, editing, and marketing, it is creative writing wherein my voice truly lies. Over the last decade or so, I have pursued many different creative outlets, specifically poetry and book writing. These outlets not only fuel my passion for storytelling but also inspire my professional work, adding depth and imagination to everything I create.
My Poetry
Poetry has always been a space where I can express, so to say, thoughts and emotions that don't always fit into structured writing. For me, it is about capturing those in-betweens: how a feeling sits upon having a conversation or the vibrant colors of a sunset. Every poem I write feels like peering into another area of my brain-mostly reflections on themes such as nature, relationships, and the human experience.
I think what I love about poetry is it forces language back to almost its core and condenses these very complex emotions and thoughts into sometimes single words or lines. I find this a very stimulating process because it really forces me to think hard about how language functions, and how meaning is conveyed with economy.
My Book
Apart from poetry, right now I'm working on a book project. Book writing gives me another kind of creative freedom, like creating a world and deep diving into stories. Whether it is developing your characters, working out intricate plots, or crafting richly descriptive scenes, to write a book calls for a balance of imagination and discipline.
The projects I work on now focus on: one can shortly describe one of his or her book projects, themes explored. This process has proven incredibly fulfilling, and I am excited to see where these projects will take me.
How My Creative Work Fuels My Professional Writing
The things that busy me more than I ever thought possible are my poetry and book writing. They are not just personal projects but also, in one way or another, means through which I set an approach to professional work. Creative writing helps me think outside the box, encouraging me to be more inventive with my copywriting and marketing strategies. It teaches me about the power of language, tone, and emotion-all those things that are pretty instrumental in crafting compelling content that resonates with readers.
Through continuous professional and creative writing, I hold an integrated approach to content creation. Be it for a marketing campaign in draft or for a poem, the bottom line remains the same-to narrate a story that counts and connect with people at a deeper level.
